Barbell Weight Breakdown
iPHONEANDROID
- Where
- Exercise editor, More Settings, Barbell Weight Breakdown. Or in a workout’s full screen, tap ⋯, then Weight Plate Breakdown.
- Options
- On or off.
- Default
- On for a barbell lift: one with Barbell or BB in its name, or the plain name of a barbell lift, like Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, RDL, or Overhead Press. Off for the rest, like Goblet Squat or DB Hip Thrust.
- In a workout
- Full screen draws the bar loaded to the set’s weight, bar included, and spells out what goes on each side, like EACH SIDE 45 + 25. It shows under the exercise name on a rep set, and under UP NEXT during rest. While you type a weight, the bar redraws as you type. During rest, the clock shrinks into the top row to make room for the bar. If your plates can’t make the weight exactly, it says how much won’t load and the closest weight they can make.
- Shows when
- Exercises with a weight. Not on bodyweight exercises.
Good to know
- Weight Plate Breakdown in ⋯ turns the drawing on or off for this exercise only. It’s the same switch as in More Settings, and it saves right away. It’s in ⋯ on a barbell lift, or on any lift you turned it on for.
- On a smaller phone, the bar steps aside while you type a rep set’s weight, so the keypad fits.
- Tap the drawing to pick a different bar for this exercise. Pump remembers it for that exercise. Or tap Bar & Plate Settings.
- In Settings, Exercise Settings, Bar & Plate Settings: under Your Bar, pick the bar every barbell lift uses. It starts on the 45 lb (20 kg) Olympic bar. Tap Add Custom Bar to add your own, or tap one of the Common Bars to fill it in. Swipe left on a bar you added to delete it.
- Under Plates You Have, turn on the plates your gym has. Pump only builds the bar from plates that are on.
